We Support  the RFU Core Values

SPORTSMANSHIP

Sportsmanship is the foundation upon which rugby union is built. We uphold the rugby tradition of camaraderie with teammates and opposition. We observe fair play both on and off the pitch and are generous in victory and dignified in defeat. We play to win but not at all costs and recognise both endeavour and achievement. We ensure that the wellbeing and development of individual players is central to all rugby activity.

RESPECT

Mutual respect forms the basis of our sport. We hold in high esteem our sport, its values and traditions and earn the respect of others in the way we behave. We respect our match officials and accept their decisions. We respect opposition players and supporters. We value our coaches and those who run our clubs and treat clubhouses with consideration.

TEAMWORK

Teamwork is essential to our sport. We welcome all new team members and include all because working as a team enriches our lives. We play selflessly: working for the team, not for ourselves alone, both on and off the field. We take pride in our team, rely on one another and understand that each player has a part to play. We speak out if our team or sport is threatened by inappropriate words or actions.

DISCIPLINE

Strong discipline underpins our sport. We ensure that our sport is one of controlled physical endeavour and that we are honest and fair. We obey the laws of the game which ensure an inclusive and exciting global sport. We support our disciplinary system, which protects our sport and upholds its values. We observe the sport’s laws and regulations and report serious breaches.

ENJOYMENT

Enjoyment is the reason we play and support rugby union. We encourage players to enjoy training and playing. We use our sport to adopt a healthy lifestyle and build life skills. We safeguard our young players and help them have fun. We enjoy being part of a team and part of the rugby family.

Welcome to Hornsea RUFC

Here at Hornsea RUFC we see ourselves as a true grassroots club at the heart of our local community.

We currently run a men’s senior side, who play in the Counties 4 Yorkshire League. We also have a relatively newly formed ladies side, who play in the Yorkshire Development League. To add to this, we have a thriving mini / junior section, starting with under 6’s, through to under 15’s. And for older former players / supporters we have a very active Vice Presidents social section.

The club was formed in the 1923/24 season, and ever since 1927, our home has been the Hollis Recreation Ground, Westwood Avenue, Hornsea, a fantastic facility, that has been improved over the years and is now revered as being one of the best sporting venues in East Yorkshire.

For the past 99 years our mission has been to promote and develop the game of rugby union in Hornsea and the surrounding area, trying to encourage participation in the game, by people from all sections of society and the community, regardless of skills or experience.

We are continually looking to improve and enhance the club, and are always looking for new members, in all of our sections, to come and join the Hornsea RUFC Family.

Come and be a part of it, and join the team!

Our Sponsors for 2022 Season

Founded in 2006, ResQ wanted to change the way contact centres work, with a firm belief that there was a better way of doing things. Regardless of background or experience, we wanted to create a business that invested in people, giving them the skills to thrive and develop a career that allows them to be the best they can be.

Established 1998 in Hull, the team are incredibly passionate about the city and wider region and ideally situated to cover its core client base across Yorkshire and beyond. The company is committed to staying in the area, creating local jobs for local people.

Frontier Modular services, which specialises in the installation and fit out of modular buildings, was set up in 2017. It has since enjoyed significant year-on-year growth and works on behalf of a number of well-known manufacturers in the industry.

Over the past three years the company’s workforce has grown to 20 site operatives, who work on a diverse range of installation projects, including schools, hospitals and immigration centres.

Frontier Modular have supported us since the day they were formed and we are very grateful of their support.
